About Curses, Hexes, Jinxes, Crossings, and Downright Bad Mojo The act of cursing an enemy goes as far back as well...the beginning of time! A curse is any expressed wish that some form of adversity or unhappiness will befall another person or persons. Curses occur vis a vis any supernatural power, such as a spell, a prayer, magic, witchcraft, a god, a natural force, or a spirit. In many belief systems, the curse itself (or accompanying ritual) is considered to be a primary force in the result. Special names for specific types of curses can be found in various cultures: - African American hoodoo presents us with the jinx and crossed conditions, as well as a form of foot track magic, whereby cursed objects are laid in the paths of victims and activated when walked over.

Voodoo Doll Binding Spell
The purpose of binding spells is to render harmless a person who is mentally or emotionally abusing you. When done properly, binding spells do not harm the target person, they simply make the person powerless to mentally or emotionally harm you.
These types of spells are preferable over revenge spells because you don't have the same kind of karmic backlash when you render a hurtful person harmless. Whenever you choose to harm another human being, whether they deserve it or not, there will always be some sort of consequence for you or those close to you, so you should always choose binding spells over revenge spells. Materials:
Small cloth poppet, with the head unstitched
Needle and thread
Personal item from the person you want to bind, such as fingernail clippings, hair, or piece of clothing
Red ribbon
Black candle Directions:
Call on Papa Legba to Open the doors to the Spirit World. Say:
Open the door papa Legba, your child awaits Open the door Papa, so that I may pass Open the door Papa Legba, when I return I will thank the Loa.
Light the black candle. Concentrating deeply on the person you are binding, place the personal object inside the head of the doll and sew it shut. Tie the red ribbon around the poppet's head, and around all areas of the body to symbolize immobilizing the person. Chant:

Your words cannot harm me
Your thoughts cannot harm me Your actions cannot harm me

Focus all of your energy into this chant until you feel power coursing through your veins. Visualize the person helpless to harm and abuse you while you are chanting. Take the doll far away from your home and bury it in the woods under a big oak tree. Pour sea salt on the area where the doll is buried. Leave the area and do not look back and do not ever return to that area. Thank the Loas for their protection and power.

How to Dispose of a Cursed Voodoo Doll If you feel that you are in possession of a negative Voodoo doll, the best thing to do is to put it in a white cloth and sprinkle it generously with sea salt. You can then take it to a river or stream or deep in the woods with an offering of fruit and some coins and ask the spirits of the water or the trees to take this energy and transform it through the power of the earth. Walk away without looking back and when you arrive home light a 7-day protection candle and take a bath with cleansing herbs, including sea salt. Alternately, you can:  On a Saturday, place the doll (or object) in a clean white cloth, dig a hole in the earth, far away from your home (on Hallowed ground if possible), place the cloth wrapped doll in the hole and burn it. Then, cover the ashes which remain with Holy Water or May Water and cover the hole over with the dirt. The earth will recycle that negative energy very quickly and turn it into positively and Blessings. When you return home afterwards, bathe very well, adding some Holy Water or May Water to your bath.
