Voodoo fest
Every year on Haloween in New Orleans, Voodoo Authentica Voodoo Authentica of New Orleans Holds the annual VOODOOFEST. According the Voodoo Authentica, "VOODOOFEST’s primary goals are to honor the Ancestors, educate the public about this widely misunderstood religion & to preserve and celebrate the unique Spiritual & Cultural Heritage of New Orleans." This event is free of charge and open to the general public. The types of things you can expect when you attend is hearing leading practitioners speak about the making & use of gris gris bags, potion oils and other traditional Spiritual tools, how to construct an ancestral altar, information about the use of dolls, and candles as ritual magick tools. In addition, you will experience authentic opening and closing Voodoo ceremonies, and the opportunity to learn African drumming with local experts. Voodoo Authentica is located in the heart of the historic New Orleans French Quarter at 612 rue Dumaine. Their current hours of operation are 11 AM - 7 PM Thursday - Sunday.
